Amano Shrimp Care

Care for Amano Shrimps is quite easy and these social creatures live in groups. However, keeping them together with shrimps other than their own species should be avoided because Amano Shrimps are calm and timid creatures and can be vulnerable to attacks from other species. It is also important to provide hiding places, such as plants, where shrimp can hide so they feel safer.

Keeping the temperature of the aquarium water at approximately 25 degrees is important for the health of Amano Shrimps. A 25 liter aquarium can offer a suitable living space for these creatures. Additionally, regular cleaning of the aquarium water is necessary because Amano Shrimps are sensitive to water quality. Since these sensitive creatures can die quickly under stress, they can have a longer lifespan in ideal aquarium conditions and when they do not coexist with carnivorous fish.

Amano Shrimp Nutrition

Amano Shrimps are easy to feed and help clean algae in your aquarium. However, since they defecate like other creatures, cleanliness of the aquarium water is important. Amano Shrimps also prefer foods such as plant residues other than algae. They can be fed with specially produced shrimp food or fish food. Since they are both carnivores and herbivores, chopping and adding vegetables such as boiled spinach or zucchini to their aquariums a few times a week will make them happy. It can be a fun observation to see Amano Shrimp competing for food, so breaking up the food and throwing it away ensures that each shrimp gets fed.

All in all, Amano Shrimps are a popular choice due to their ability to keep your aquarium clean, interesting behavior, and ease of care. These interesting creatures are a fun species to watch, especially with their competitive behavior among feed.
