You can read the rest of our article to find answers to the questions in your mind.

LRF is the abbreviation of the English words Light Rock Fishing. It stands for Light Rock Fishing. The lightness here comes from the light material used. Light baits, light jigheads, light lines, light rods and of course light reels. The most important issue we should consider when choosing an LRF machine should be lightness.

The fact that the LRF machine is light does not mean anything on its own. The second feature we will pay attention to is the speed of the fishing reel. So, what do we call a cycle? In its simplest form, revolution is how many turns of rope the machine wraps around itself when we turn its handle 1 turn. Each machine has numbers like 4.5:1 or 5.6:1 on its box... This is called the turnover ratio. When the machine's arm rotates 1 turn, the mechanism that wraps the rope rotates 4 and a half times is written as 4.5:1 revolution. The mechanism that winds the rope is called the rotor, that is, the drag head. It rotates around the head and retracts the rope. Nowadays, both the turnover rate and the recovery amount are written on many machine boxes or in the technical information section.

If you are going to hunt with classical techniques in the LRF method, you should choose the machine with the least amount of recovery. We hunt by giving action to the bait with movements we call twitch and jerk. The less the machine retrieves in one turn, the slower and longer the action of the baits and jigs in the water will be.

The feed used is also an important factor in choosing the LRF machine. Someone fishing with a baby jig should prefer a fast machine, while someone using silicones and maggots should prefer a slow machine. Those who do LRF in wavy waters should choose a fast machine so that they can quickly collect the fishing rod before taking action after the first cast. It is very important to intervene before the bait sinks to the bottom and to collect it and take action before it gets stuck on the bottom. Experienced fishermen always have several different machines and rods with them for such reasons.

Although the LRF technique is performed with light materials and the equipment used is small, the fish caught can be of different sizes. You can even catch a big perch with the LRF technique. Therefore, always buy the best equipment you can so that the fish that escapes is not too big.

When choosing an LRF machine, you should choose small machines with a length of 10', 15' or at most 20'. If you want to buy a 25 or 30 machine and use it for spin hunting, try to choose the lightest models.

As you can see, choosing a machine suitable for the LRF technique is not difficult at all. However, if you are going to prepare a new set, decide on the reed first. It will always be a better choice to buy a machine suitable for your rod. In addition to this information, you can also get information from the seller. May your hunt be fruitful in advance ;)
