Preparation: 20 minutes. Cooking time: 50 minutes
Meagre Stewing Recipe Ingredients:
1 kilo of tomatoes
1 kg Meagre Fish
100 ml olive oil
5-6 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or crushed
Salt
Black pepper
Optional: 2 potatoes
Meagre Stewing Recipe:
Chop the tomatoes into cubes. Slice half or one medium-sized tomato and set aside to put on the fish later.
Mix the chopped tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper and place on the baking tray.
Chop and add potatoes as desired
Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven.
While the sauce is cooking, prepare the fish: Salt the fish generously all over.
Add black pepper and place (carefully) over the hot tomato sauce.
Place the tomato slices you set aside on the fish. If you forgot to separate the slices, pour some sauce over the fish.
Place the baking tray back in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, depending on the size of the fish.
Let the food you take out of the oven rest for 5 minutes to cool down.
Serve in deep plates, first with the sauce, then with clean fish meat.
