Red Mullet (Mullus barbatus): It lives in flocks in muddy and sandy depths of approximately 300 meters. The average length of red mullet is 12-15 cm, maximum 40 cm. Its color is moire pink and red tones. Mullet fish are fish that migrate seasonally according to sea temperature. Red mullet, whose average lifespan is 10 years, lays between 15,000-100,000 eggs during the breeding period between April and June. Red mullet, which is very delicious, also has a high economic value. It is divided into species such as Pasha red mullet, grass red mullet, sand red mullet and rock mullet. The most valuable among them is the rock mullet.

Bream (Spanis aurata): The average length of sea bream, one of the famous fish of the Aegean and Mediterranean, is between 25 cm and 35 cm, and its weight can be between half a kilo and 3 kilos. The largest sea bream detected was 60 cm long and weighed 6 kilos. It is a carnivorous fish and easily consumes other fish and small crustaceans with its strong jaw. It lives in shallow areas in summer and at depths of 35-40 meters in winter. Breams older than 2 years old live deeper. It lays between 100,000-150,000 eggs between October and December, which is the breeding period. Sea bream is a fish with high economic value that is also suitable for farm production. Sea bream meat is very delicious.


Red Porgy (Sparus pagrus): This fish, which is a type of Sparidae. The average length of the Red Porgy fish is 25-35 cm and its maximum length is 80 cm. It is a carnivorous fish that feeds on small fish, molluscs and crustaceans. It lives in burrows in stony and rocky areas. Red Porgy, which has a breeding period from spring to August, is one of the rare Aegean fish. It is the most delicious of coral fish and has a regional economic value.

Annular Sea Bream (Diplodus annularis): It is a fish of the sea bream genus, one of the Aegean Sea fish. It is found in all our seas. It lives in warm and warm coastal areas and is between 16-20 cm tall. Shrimps, sea worms, algae and fish fry are the main food sources. Ispati finfish is a delicious migratory fish species. The breeding period is from spring to the end of summer.


Scorpion Fish (Scorpaena porcus): It has the same characteristics as the scorpion fish, but it is smaller in size and darker in color. Scorpion fish have poisonous spines like scorpions, so care should be taken when caught. Its meat is very delicious and beneficial for health.


Turbot (Psetta maxima): Turbot, a bottom fish, is rarely seen in the Aegean. It is mostly found in the Black Sea. It spends its life lying on the bottom at depths between 10 meters and 400 meters and is not a wanderer. It can reach up to 1 meter in length. The lifespan of turbot is around 25-30 years. It is a carnivorous and gluttonous fish species. The meat of turbot, which breeds in waters with a temperature of 10-15 degrees between April and June, is delicious and has a high economic value.

Two Banded Sea Bream (Diplodus vulgaris): It is an abundant and popular local fish that lives in all our seas, mostly on the rocks of temperate waters in the Marmara and Aegean Seas. There are various species of bream fish, which live in flocks and reproduce from spring to summer depending on the temperature. The one with a spotted and striped tail is called a wimp. It is a type of fish that is caught in abundance, is delicious and has high economic value.


Axillary Seabream (Pagellus aceme): This fish, which is a type of coral fish, lives at depths between 400-700 meters in the Aegean. It lives near the bottom in rocky and stony areas. It is a delicious fish that can reach 35-40 cm in length. It has a high economic value and the breeding period lasts from spring to August, depending on the temperature in the sea. Like other sea breams, it feeds on small fish, molluscs and crustaceans.


Chub Mackerel (Scomber japonicus): Found in all our seas, it is actually considered a Marmara fish. It lives in flocks and feeds on small fish fry and plankton. Females, which mature at the age of 2-3, lay between 300,000-400,000 eggs during the breeding period in July-August. Although its meat is not as delicious as mackerel, it is consumed widely.

White Grouper (Epinephelus aeneus): It is a common fish in the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. It can reach 1 meter in length. It lives in shallow, stony, rocky and gravelly waters without going deep. May and June are the breeding season. The sea bass, which has very delicious meat, is one of the predatory and carnivorous fish of the Mediterranean. Its economic value is very high regionally.


Blackspot Seabream (Pagellus bogaraveo): It is a fish common in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. It lives at depths between 100-300 meters and feeds on crustaceans, invertebrates and marine plants. Its length may be between 30-50 cm. Since it is a hermaphrodite fish, it can display both male and female characteristics. It lays eggs in the spring, depending on the temperature of the water. Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax): Sea bass, which belongs to the fish family, is not a very migratory fish. Sea bass, one of the Aegean fish species, lives in the sea and in areas where seas mix with rivers. They live in groups when they are young and singly later on. Because they like secluded and dark places, they nest in shipwrecks and rock cavities. The length of the sea bass, which has an average lifespan of 20 years, can be between 50 cm and 1 meter and its weight can be around 10-12 kg. Seabass with a length of less than 40 cm are called spinach. It has a high reproductive rate by laying a lot of eggs between January and March. Small fish are among their important foods. Sea bass has very delicious meat and has a high economic value.

Bluefish (Pomatomus saltator): It is a migratory fish seen in the waters between the Black Sea and the Aegean. Bluefish are called by different names depending on their size. Sea bass, which has a breeding season in late spring and early summer, lives at depths of up to 200 meters. In the autumn and winter seasons, bluefish meat is very delicious. It is a fish of very high economic value.


Thicklip Grey Mullet (Chelon labrosus): Mullet is found in the hot and warm regions of our seas, close to the shores, and in the mouths of rivers connected to the sea. Thicklip Grey Mullet is a fish that can also be seen in inland waters, that is, in lakes. It lives in flocks. There are different types of mullet in our seas.


Grouper (Epinephelus guaza): The grouper is a species of Sparidae fish and is related to the sea bass. It has an average height of 60-70 cm and can reach a maximum height of 1.5 meters and a weight of 40 kilos. It lives alone in the depths of 8 meters to 150 meters in stony, sandy and mossy coastal areas in the Aegean and Mediterranean. It is a carnivorous fish that feeds on crustaceans and molluscs. The old grouper fish, whose meat is very delicious, is dry and fibrous. Although it is rare in our seas, it is overfished by underwater spear hunters.

Tuna (Thunnus thynnus): It is a large and very valuable fish that lives all over the world and in the seas of our country. There are different species that can reach 3-4 meters in length and weigh from 100 kilos to 800 kilos. Tuna (tuna) is a migratory fish that lives in schools. They travel around the Mediterranean at a speed of 40-60 kilometers per hour. They generally live in upper waters. They lay approximately 1 million eggs between March and August, the breeding season. Their lifespan is on average 15 years. It is a very valuable fish for the food industry.


Sardine (Sardine pilchardus): They are migratory fish that live in flocks in medium depths in summer and in deep waters in winter. The average length of a sardine is 15 cm and it can reach a maximum length of 22 cm. Sardine fish, which feed on young fish and plankton, are abundant in the Black Sea, Marmara and Northern Aegean. It is economically very valuable with its delicious meat and various uses. Their reproduction occurs multiple times over a long period from April to September. They lay approximately 20,000 eggs at a time.


Common Dentex (Dentex dentex): Dentex from the Sparidae family, is a combative, active and strong Aegean fish. It can grow up to 1-1.5 meters in length and 10-15 kilograms in weight. Feeding on crustaceans, molluscs and especially cuttlefish, the dentex can easily break and eat a lobster's shell with its strong jaw. It lives in small flocks in the stony and rocky parts of the shores in summer and at depths of up to 300 meters in winter. Sinarit, which is the breeding season in the spring months, is a valuable fish due to its taste and rare catch.

Sharpsnout Sea Bream (Diplodus puntazzo): Sharpsnout Sea Bream is a fish that can grow up to 35 cm, lives in flocks, and can migrate over long distances for reasons such as seasonal feeding and reproduction. They feed on sea plants and small crustaceans on the shores. Many fish species belonging to the Sparidae family, to which these fish belong, live in our seas.


Stripped Red Mullet (Mullus surmuletus): It can be found in other seas except the Black Sea during the summer season. Their length can be between 15-35 cm. It lives in sandy, muddy and stony shores at depths between 3 meters and 100 meters. It feeds on crustaceans, insects and other creatures on the seabed. It breeds in summer and lays its eggs at depths of 10m - 60m. The taste of its meat has been known since ancient Roman times. It is a fish that is caught frequently and has high economic value.


Trança (Pagrus ehrenbergi): It is a fish species of the Aegean Sea. It lives alone in sandy and stony areas covered with algae and plants, 20-25 meters deep in warm and warm seas. It goes down to depths of 150 meters in winter. Its length is generally between 30 cm and 50 cm, but there are records that reach 75 cm. It can eat all kinds of crustaceans with its strong jaw and teeth. It is a hermaphrodite fish, meaning it displays both male and female characteristics. The breeding season is in the summer months. It lives in flocks in the upper regions of warm and hot seas and away from the coasts. The zurna fish, with an average length of 50 cm, is carnivorous. It feeds on small fish in flocks. Although its meat is white and delicious, it is not hunted much. They lay 7-8 eggs, 1000-1500 at a time, from early spring to summer.
